Privacy policy

Medical Coding Prep Test(“we”, “us”) runs free medical coding practice questions and study guides. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can.
What we collect
- Without an account: your practice results and review deck are stored only in your own browser (localStorage). We don't receive them.
- If you create an account: your email address and password (stored by our authentication provider, Supabase; we never see your password), plus your practice attempts, answers and review deck so they sync across your devices.
- If you join the premium waitlist: your email, the plan you'd prefer, when your exam is, and your consent to one launch email.
- If you report an issue with a question: the question and your message. We don't ask for your name with reports.
- Technical data: our hosting provider processes IP addresses and browser details to serve the site and protect it from abuse. To limit repeated form submissions we store a one-way, salted hash of your IP address with waitlist entries and issue reports, never the IP address itself.
- Analytics: Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and anonymous practice events (for example, “test completed, 70%”). It doesn't use cookies, and we never send your email or other personal details to it.
Don't enter real patient information anywhere on the site. Our questions use invented scenarios, and nothing you type should identify a patient.
How we use it
- To run your account and sync your progress.
- To send account emails: a welcome email when you sign up, and password resets you ask for.
- To send one email when premium launches, only if you joined the waitlist and agreed to it.
- To fix questions people report and improve the site using aggregated statistics.
We don't sell or rent personal information, we don't show ads, and we don't share your data with anyone for their own marketing.
Who processes data for us
- Supabase: authentication and database.
- Vercel: hosting and cookieless analytics.
- Resend: sending account emails.
These providers are based in, or process data in, the United States.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account data stays until you delete your account. Waitlist entries are kept until premium launches or you ask us to remove them. Issue reports are kept while the question exists.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account and its data at any time from your account page.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete waitlist or report data by emailing iosdladev2021@gmail.com.
- Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have further rights under local law; we honour them on request.
Children
The site is meant for adults preparing for professional exams. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and we'll email account holders about significant changes.
